Ein Kran mischt den Abfall sorgf\u00e4ltig und speist ihn in den Einf\u00fclltrichter ein. Von dort wird er von einem Dosierst\u00f6ssel auf den Rost geschoben. Nach der Verbrennung gelangt die restliche, inerte Asche in den Entschlacker, von wo sie zur Metallr\u00fcckgewinnung und zur weiteren Verwendung in einen Bunker oder einen Lagerbereich gebracht werden kann. Die freigesetzten Gase aus dem Abfall werden \u00fcber dem Rost mit Sekund\u00e4rluft und rezirkulierten Abgasen gemischt. Dies gew\u00e4hrleistet zum einen eine vollst\u00e4ndige Verbrennung und zum anderen niedrigste CO-, NOx- und VOC- Emissionen. Die Rezirkulation der Abgase steigert auch die Energieeffizienz der Anlage. Die freigesetzte Energie wird genutzt, um \u00fcberhitzten Dampf zu generieren, der zur Erzeugung von Elektrizit\u00e4t in einem Turbinengenerator entspannt wird.
