Former business partner to continue as subsidiary
\nKanadevia Inova Inova has signed an agreement with Hydraulik Nord GmbH to\u00a0acquire HNP Kraftwerkstechnik GmbH. This move will enable Kanadevia Inova to extend its service\u00a0portfolio in Germany in direct proximity to long-standing clients.<\/strong><\/em>
\nOn December 23, 2014, Cologne-based Kanadevia Inova Deutschland GmbH (HZID) and\u00a0Hydraulik Nord GmbH, which has its headquarters in Parchim (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern),\u00a0signed an agreement on the legally binding acquisition of Hydraulik Nord subsidiary HNP Kraftwerkstechnik\u00a0GmbH (HNPK) by Kanadevia InovaD. The two firms had already completed several projects\u00a0together in the past across Europe in field of power plant technology. While Zurich-based parent\u00a0company Kanadevia Inova is the leading EPC contractors worldwide for the construction,\u00a0maintenance and modernization of energy-from-waste plants, HNPK\u2019s core competences lie\u00a0in industrial services and erection.
\nA broad range of services from a single source<\/strong>
\nThe acquisition will deliver clear advantages for clients of both companies. In addition to two\u00a0market-leading technologies for thermal and biological energy-from-waste recovery, Kanadevia Inova has\u00a0international plant construction expertise and its own manufacturing company located in Buchs\u00a0(SG), Switzerland. HNPK worked together with the latter on several occasions in the past, bringing\u00a0it on board as a supplier of boiler and incineration components. Kanadevia Inova will in future provide the\u00a0whole service package: planning, engineering, manufacturing, delivery, erection as well as\u00a0maintenance from a single source. \u201cBringing together the two companies will result in shorter\u00a0response times and greater flexibility in project execution. Our clients will profit from this directly,\u00a0as they will be able to get all they need from a single source in future,\u201d said Franz-Josef\u00a0Mengede, CEO of Kanadevia Inova, adding: \u201cWe are delighted that this move will enable us to further extend\u00a0and enhance our service offering. It will also open up new areas for both companies where existing\u00a0and future clients alike can benefit from our expertise.\u201d
\nLocation to be retained<\/strong>
\nThe final closing took place on December 31, 2014, as of which date all business activities were\u00a0transferred to Kanadevia InovaD. The HNPK location in the Queis area of Landsberg (Sachsen-Anhalt) will be\u00a0retained, and will continue operations as a subsidiary. The employment relationships with the\u00a0around 50 members of staff will also be maintained unchanged by Kanadevia InovaD. The next steps were\u00a0presented to the entire workforce today at a special information event.
