{"id":6901,"date":"2019-01-10T16:00:43","date_gmt":"2019-01-10T15:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kanadevia-inova.com\/cms\/?p=6897"},"modified":"2019-01-10T16:00:43","modified_gmt":"2019-01-10T15:00:43","slug":"east-rockingham-rrf-suez-joins-consortium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.kanadevia-inova.com\/fr\/east-rockingham-rrf-suez-joins-consortium\/","title":{"rendered":"East Rockingham RRF: Suez Joins Consortium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SUEZ Joins Consortium Developing Waste to Energy Facility in East Rockingham, Australia<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nThe consortium developing the East Rockingham Resource Recovery Facility has awarded SUEZ, global expert in the water and waste resource management sectors, the role of waste management partner for the project for a minimum term of 20 years.  SUEZ\u2019s entry into the project represents the single largest commitment by a waste management company to the development of the Waste to Energy sector in Australia.<br \/>\nThe consortium of Hitachi Zosen INOVA (HZI), Tribe Infrastructure Group and New Energy Corporation was established in 2016\/2017 and has since won a series of competitive tenders for long-term contracts with local and regional government authorities in the Perth metropolitan area.<br \/>\nThe project encompasses the design, construction, financing and operation of a greenfield Energy-from-Waste (WtE) facility in the Rockingham Industry Zone 40km south of the Perth Central Business District.  The new facility will treat approximately 300,000 tonnes per year of residual waste from municipal, commercial and industrial sources and up to 30,000 tonnes per year of biosolids.  The WtE facility will generate approximately 29MW of reliable renewable energy, enough to power over 36,000 homes.  The start of construction activities is planned to take place in 2019.<br \/>\nSUEZ\u2019s role in the consortium touches every aspect of the project, combining SUEZ\u2019s international WtE experience with its market-leading network of assets and infrastructure in Western Australia:<br \/>\n\u2022\tWaste Supply \u2013 SUEZ will supply at least 65,000 tonnes per year of Commercial &#038; Industrial waste.<br \/>\n\u2022\tOperations &#038; Maintenance \u2013 SUEZ will lead the delivery of a 20-year operations &#038; maintenance service to the project in partnership with Kanadevia Inova and New Energy.<br \/>\n\u2022\tDisposal Services \u2013 SUEZ will provide best-practice collection &#038; disposal services for fly ash residue and non-processible waste at its resource recovery facilities in Bibra Lake and North Bannister.<br \/>\n\u2022\tPower Offtake \u2013 SUEZ will purchase reliable renewable electricity generated by the project for its operational requirements across its business in the Perth area.<br \/>\nSUEZ and Kanadevia Inova have an extensive track record of joint developments in Energy-from-Waste projects worldwide, including the Severnside Energy Recovery Centre in South Gloucestershire, STV 3, 4 and 5 near Billingham in Stockton-on-Tees, England, in Ivry-sur-Seine near Paris, France, and in Poznan, Poland, altogether processing more than 2.2 million tonnes of waste every year.<br \/>\nMark Venhoek, SUEZ Australia &#038; New Zealand CEO said, \u201cThe project is SUEZ\u2019s first energy-from-waste development in Australia and we are very pleased to become a partner in this landmark transaction.
